Was out running around today and found a 70 Charger for sale and thought id stop.
Talked to the owner and told me he wanted 5k for the car and wouldnt take a dime less.
the car was B5 blue and had the R/T side scoops along with a Pistol Grip 4-Speed. Owner told me he got the car when he was in high school and took it to prom and waited till now to sell it.
car needed floor boards and trunk work (as all B bodies lol) but other then that very good condition.
I had the check book with me and i ALMOST (almost is the key word) wrote out a check on the spot for the car and would came back later to pick it up after work.
But.....(dumbass moment) decided to pass till i got more info on the car. I left my number and told him id call him at 10 pm tonight for an answer and if i did take it id be there with a trailer to get it.

When i got home the answering machine was blinking and hit the button telling me the car had been sold for 5k and was no longer for sale.

Did I mention it was a 440 6pak?

DAMNIT IM SOOOOO STUPID! ! ! ! !

live and learn i guess

Billy take that $5grand and pay someone to kick your a$$! :eye: :geek:

How could you? Did you run the #s? I would have gone there with a book to decode the thing rite in front of him and then $$$$$$$$$. Not thought to it! :D

Illybay ouyay ipday itshay. I feel fir ya buddy. About 12 yrs ago I passed on a 70 HEMI 4spd Runner from the original owner for $5,000. Car was perfect. He allways had cool cars; '67 442, '69 427 Vette, all in great shape.
We've all done it, WHAT THE HECK WERE WE THINKING? Ray

I was at work and didnt have a way to run the #'s. I called a Mopar guy I knew right down from where i work. He wasnt in but did call and left a message today that He knew of the car and said it was indeed a real 440 6 Pak pistol grip 4 speed Charger.
I returned his call telling him to late, it was sold before i could do anything about it. He was stund that the car even was for sale. He had been after that car he told me for 15 years but the guy would never sell it.
From what my buddy tells me there were only like a little over 200 of those cars ever built (like i needed to hear that lol).
