I have a 72 duster with front disc brakes, drum rear.....factory power assist booster brakes.... BUT after having trouble tracking down the parts I need and some trouble with a part I bought from a member ( long story ) I think I will just go ahead and convert over to manual brakes (master on the firewall)

so if anyone has the parts I need to do this than please PM me and let me know!.....the master cylinder itself is not a MUST have item....as I can find it locally new for a decent price.....but I will need whatever else is needed such as the pushrod and whatever else I may be forgetting.

Thanks in advance

Anyone? Someone has to have a parts car with what I need that they have no use for right? Lol

All you really need is the push rod, which I have. PM me for info. If you are just going from power to manual but keeping the same brake type (disc or drum ) and you have a good master cylinder you don't need a new one. You're right that you can get a rebuilt master cyl locally for not too much money - a 73 and up one will work on 72 and back. All you need is to remove the booster and linkage to the pedal and replace the push rod and you can reuse your existing master cylinder. Just re-bend the brake lines to meet the new location of the master, or bend and flare up some new ones.

yup i already knew most of that and thats the plan I decided on also.....Thanks for the offer but I just picked up a master cylinder with rod off ebay for $12.00 and I went and put a new master cylinder on order because I don't want to use the used one that came with what I bought on ebay....I really only bought it because it had the rod i needed.

I am doing just like you said and putting the rod in place of the booster linkage and removing the booster brackets in favor of a master cylinder and I will then rebend my lines.

so if anyone needs and power brake parts let mek now ....I bought booster brackets from a fabo member for $40.00 and cleaned the, up and painted them nice and new and black I also have the power booster linkage, I uave a power booster (rusty and I honestly wouldnt bother with trying to rebuild it) but maybe good for a couple parts or a core and it also has a master cylinder on it,the support brackets that mount to the car,the place that mounts behind the brackets on the firewall all that stuff.

if anyone needs any of it just let me know and I will work a deal with you because I have no use for the stuff
