Any help you can provide on a service manual for a 1965 Dodge dart would be greatly appreciated. I have had this car since I was 16, 1994. I drove it for a year and it developed an oil leak so it has sat for nearly 25 years. Now it's time to get her up and running again so any and all help you can send my way as far as where to find parts, a service manual, and any other info would be amazing!
Thanks in advance
John

Welcome to FABO from another 65 lover! I picked up my FSM at the Mopar Nationals years ago. They might be re-popping them by now (67-up to a certain year are being re-popped). For parts, put a want ad for stuff you need; someone might have whatever you need. Probably the hardest stuff to find are nice, undented candy canes (Laysons was reproducing them - expensive though). Post some pics of your Dart when you get a chance!

Thanks for the help guys. Fortunately my Dart was pretty much complete when we bought it, except, of course, for the candy canes. One was decent enough to put on but I could definitely use a better set. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Any idea where the oil leak is coming from? Valve cover, oil pan, etc? Was it a bad leak? Since its been sitting so long, it would be good to replace all the gaskets. Does it turn over?

I need to get a battery and test it out. I'll give it a shot this weekend and let you know the conclusion. I'll also post a pic of the oil catching rig my dad fixed up for it years ago. It ran from the hose connecting the air cleaner to the valve cover, into a coffee can and then back into the dipstick. My dad would give MacGuyver a run for his money.

beware of repoped FSM. I have had 2-3 over the yrs and NEVER have I had one that didn't come loss at the binding!!!!!!! and thye were not cheap. lots of FSM are on disc but i'm old fashioned, I like them in the book form!!!!!!

EBay is great for parts as well. I have a 66 dart 270 that I'm revamping and that's where the majority of my stuff has come from. You can also look at year one for good prices. Hope this helps you out a bit

I use my original 65 FSM all the time and unlike the repops, my original is still going strong! When I bought mine, I happened to see it at the Nationals with a $50 price tag on it. This was about 88 or so. I told my wife to give the guy $50 and she said - "What! $50 for a book!!" Still using it - great investment I keep telling her to this day!

Year One and Classic Ind. ? Ha unless you buy under their vol. discount,(jacked up shipping too)you are getting screwed, IMO

Welcome to the world of early A bodies! Almost nothing is available in the aftermarket!
