All,

I have been searching for details on swapping a LAX head on a Magnum 5.9 block. Can someone point me in the right direction please? I have some adj SS PRW Roller rockers with hollow Comp 7958 Hi Techpush rods currently in my 367 setup. I "guess" the PR's won't be correct any more due to possible length issues as this was a zero deck motor and we searched for these for a correct length. It will need to be remeasured.

Thanks,
Marion

How do the rockers oil on the Indy heads?

If the Indy heads oil through the deck to the rocker shafts they won't work on a Magnum block because Magnums oil through the pushrods.

Magnums up to 1995 had the LA oiling holes. They weren't used on the magnum heads. But the block was drilled for it.

I have a 1994 5.9 in the garage and a 1995 5.9 we built for my dads truck. Both of them have oil holes. The 1996 5.9 in my dart doesn't have the holes. There were quite a few small changes made to the magnums in 1996.

LAX heads on a Magnum are a terrible idea... you should send me a PM and I'll buy them from you

My 2000 360 magnum has the 1.6 PRW Rockers. I have the new 190cc trick flow heads on my 360. I am oiling through the push rods, with a comp 550 solid lift cam and Howard's EDM lifters
mopar65, The magnum head is a pedestal mounted rocker not a shaft mounted arrangement as on the LA setup. Thanks.

Hi yes I know that. I was trying to say that you can use LA heads on a Magnum block as long as you Use Rocker arms that will do push rod oiling.

Here is a pick of the trickflow head on my 5.9 magnum motor.
