Input Shaft Grease?

Should I put any grease on my input shaft splines before I install it?

I would not. I WOULD however grease the pilot bushing cavity.

1970 factory service manual says don't lube the splines. I have on occasion seen the clutch disc "seized" to the trany input splines; a slight amount of wheel brg grease wiped across the trany shaft splines prevented the problem from reoccuring.... but FABO members probably don't drive their rigs in harsh environments.
