So I'm about to install a new windshield in the Dart.

The old one I removed, which I think was the original, only had sealer along the bottom where the gasket meets the cowl. No sealer anywhere else, none around the edge of the glass or in the glass channel, None where the gasket fits on the car, except for along the bottom.

Is this the way I should do the new glass ?
p.s. yes I'm using a new gasket.

As long as there is no rust and the metal is nice and clean you should not need any sealer...

I just installed a new windshield in my Swinger, I placed a bead of sealant inside the new seal before I put it on the car and also a bead of sealant inside the seal before I placed the windshield in. My thought is why not! for as long as it takes and end result is no leaks.
