installing shocks

how do you get the shocks on the rear of 69 dart move springs in 3 inches can not slide on studs at same time and no enough bend to slide

Should be able to put rear of car on jack stands, then put jack under the axle. Put shock on upper mount, then jack up the rear so it will slide on. Or if shock hangs lower than rear end when car is supported then compress the shock with jack untill it will slide on.
