OK, guys, this is the stupid question of the day. Are intake manifolds from a 318 and 360 interchangeable? I currently have a 318 in my Dart and I'm going to buy an Edelbrock intake and carb. But I also have a 360 in the garage which will go in the Dart later. Will I be able to use the Edelbrock set up on the 360? :shaking2:

Yes, however depending on what manifold you get. the port sizes will be different. If you get a Performer 318/360, it will have 318 ports. If you get a perfromer RPM or AirGap(recommended since it will end up on a 360 anyway) it will have 360 ports. 360 ports on 318 heads will make some unwanted turbulance, but its not quite what i would consider a huge deal...since the intake will end up on a 360 one day anyway. hope it helps

Thanks, Goody, I think that helps. One more question for you. Can you put 360 heads on a 318 and if so, will it breathe better. I have a complete 360 out of a 77 Ramcharger and I am not sure what type of heads came on it. Thanks, again. (And I really like your ride).

Yes. you can put 360 heads right on the 318. However, given the increase chamber size of the 360 heads, you will have to mill them down to put them on a 318. I have a 318 with 360 j'heads. Stock chamber size is low 70s, mine are milled to 56cc for 9.7:1 cr.

Better off building the 360 with the parts you want to end up with and leave the 318 alone for now.
A swap of heads and intake for it are a OK deal, but will seriously pale later on.

Go it. Thanks, guys. I think I'll just yank the 318 and use it in my sons Dart and start working on the 360.

Now that is what I call a plan. I can't wait to start working on my 360, too!
