Interesting Dodge history I did not know - Pershing, Patton, Pancho Villa and the Dodge Brothers

-
Thanks for posting that. Too bad Chrysler didn't follow Dodge Brothers lead a little more closely

I always enjoy adding the story about the Fargo's in to all the Mopar first's discussions.

An interesting side note, Henry Ford was a Nazi sympathizer and produced military vehicles and parts, for the V2 for Hitler years before he joined the US war effort and produced b24s n fact he was paid 1.1 million in reparations by the US govt for a ford factory that was bombed in Germany
And citron of France after being occupied by the Nazis was forced to produce trucks for Hitler but sabotaged them by mis labeling the dipsticks to read full while actually being low on oil in hopes they would seize up in battle

Pancho Villa wasn't a bandit as painted by history books here in the US. The real reason he came to attack on US soil was because he was sold junk arms and munitions that he paid for to be good weapons to keep fighting his revolution war of corruption in Mexico! He lost alot of his soldiers because of this. This infuriated Villa and came to attack those that had sold him crap for guns and such. He warned the crooks that sold him junk that his attack was only for this reason. He did not have a problem with US but with these particular bad hombres!! He cut off their ears as a sign that if they went looking for him he would then kill them! Unfortunately this info is only found in Mexican history accounts given by several witnesses of the time some were his own men others were key people around @ the time unrelated to Pancho Villa. Just trying clear up some info missing in all of this.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of "history" that has been crafted......seen nightly on the evening news................................................
sticking to the Mopar aspect, there are a ton of stories and sidelines(shows?) that pop up the more You look, & the more You dig........never cease to be amazed...........this particular one is somewhat renowned among enthusiasts/buffs of automotive history. The sad, rather depressing demise of the Dodge Bros. however, does not get the same attn.........& maybe just as well.....I'd rather remember Them for Their legacy of excellence 1st.............................

Theres a touring car inYakima, WA. It was used during one of the incursions into Mexico. Last time I saw it was at an estate sale. The widow still has it.
