Is food poisoning contaigous?

My wife managed to get food poisoning over the weekend and now my son is showing signs of food poisoning too. Just wondering if there is a way she could have given her cooties to him and posibly me as well.
 
ugh,could be a case of the stomach flu.Starts to pop up this time of year.Keep them hydrated,but I would take them to a doctor for sure.
 
Well if they ate the same stuff it's possible they both got it and his just came on later, but food poisoning isn't contagious. As baddodge pointed out, it could be something like a stomach virus.
 
Food poisoning itself, (botulism or whatnot), cannot be passed from one person to another. The only way they both got food poisoning is if they ate the same thing. If they ate separate things, chances are its as 1BadDodge71 said. Most likely stomach flu. Either way, I would have them checked out. Good luck.
 
Just heard from the wife (she's at the doctor with the boy) Stomach flu for the 2 of them should I worry now?
 
Yeah you're pretty much hosed and you're gonna get it lol, I mean you have a chance, but it aint that great.
 
Pour on the water, and consider adding V8 (the juice) and or Orange Juice.

There is some over the counter stuff out there that you should take at the FIRST signs of the flu, to help knock it down.

Considering you KNOW for sure they both have it, now might be a good time to have that stuff ready, so you can take it at the first hint of symptoms, or sooner.
 
Flu season is here, I will be getting a flu shot this year, didnt get it last year because of all the controversy. I had food poisioning once and Im pretty sure I never want it again.
 
I've got an iron stomach so if I even have a hint of puking I know I'm screwed. So far I'm ok heck I can go through an 18 pack of highlife on a normal weekend so I bet this thing has to be tough to get to my tummy.
 
Just got my flu shot the other day when I went for a check up. Doc charged me $10.00 then I see in the paper that in my province that flu shots are free. Took the news paper article to the doc's off and got my $10.00 back. Had stomach flu once. Man do I hate spewing!

I had it awhile back and it sucked really bad.Some people get it,some dont,maybe you might get lucky .Hope your wife and kid feel better soon
 
you will get it. Smear vodka all over everything. Sleep on the couch. Refuse to touch anybody. And, you will still get it. Sitting on toilet, and puking into the tub, at the same time. Potato soup is nice.
 
well here we are friday morning and it has begun. My iron stomach has failed me I'm weak I have the chills and I am pretty sure I can't possibly go to the bathroom again (4 times in the last hour) But I'm here at work fighting off what I can.
 
Ginger Ale and soda crackers are about the only thing I can keep down when I first get the stomach flu.....scrambled eggs and toast when I start feeling a little better. Hope you get to feeling better soon.....oh....and keep it to yourself please! I think I'll go wash my hands and the keyboard just to be sure.....:)
