I am converting my 1967 barracuda convertible from a floor shift automatic to a 4 speed manual (also on floor with out console). I have seen some people selling cross members that a listed for a 4-speed in an A-body and wonder what if any is the difference between them and the crossmember in my car that has worked for both the original 904 auto and the 727 auto I replaced it with??

Does any one out there know if you need to change the transmission crossmember when converting an A-body from Automatic to a 4 speed manual transmission???

Thanks
Bob

No you don't need to. They are all the same for auto and maual trans. The only difference is the later cross members have spool mounts insted of the buiscut type.

thanks guys that's what I thought , but was not sure since I have seen "4-speed" ones for sale.

They may be out of a 4 speed car but they are the same as the auto ones. People just trying to get more money. 4 speed = more $. LOL

If you want one out of a "4 speed car" we can trade, but you'll have to have $$ on top.

That is, if it means that much to you :D

Don't mind that they look identical :p

no I am not interested in trading (LOL!), I already have a few from Auto cars I have.

Thanks,

Bob
