I just noticed this last night when I was driving my car. The auto transmission selector quadrant on the steering column seems to have a black mask across the top of the clear plastic window that has the letters PRND21. Is this normal? I don't recall seeing this mask on any other A body cars that I've owned. This plastic window is illuminated at night. Is there a way to remove the window to clean it or replace the bulb behind it? Does your A body have the flat black painted mask across the top like mine? Mine seems a bit deteriorated with some of the black paint worn off, resulting in light from behind leaking out. Thanks - cruiser

There are a couple of short Phillips screw on the back of the indicator. Pull the screws and with a tiny screwdriver you should be able to get the rest of the electrical out. I changed mine to LEDs from a bulb
