I don't have any money to be fooling around with a new project but this one came up and I could not stay away .... Slant six , 3 on the tree , overall in fair shape . I think I will fix it up for a little run around car then sell it , I have more fun hunting parts and working on them then I do actually driving them , it that a bad thing ???

Looks like a good score,by the one pic it looks to be in fairly good shape(with a good cleaning).Anymore pics?I would,ve loved to get the 63 instead of my 66 Dart.I was born in 63!

No more pics right now( it's raining pretty hard) but I will take some more on Sunday . The rain really helps the paint , it is shot .. but the interior is in good shape and the body is in nice shape all around , little rust here and there but not disasterous . I already bought the M/C and a new/old ( but in better shape then mine ) steering wheel from Ebay LOL !! It is a good thing my Wife does not go on this or any other of my sites ....

Thanks Ben , and thanks for the PM also.

No problem Steve. Let me know if I can help either way.

If you want to put a very economical (but solid) paint job on it, let me know. I may have found a source over in Hayward.

New (to me) Cragars that I always wanted as a kid !!! SBP and had them shipped from SD , can't wait to get them mounted on the car .

was that the one that was on craigslist? i wanted to pick it up, but it looked too nice to use for parts.

Yes , he kept coming down on price untill I could not resist .... He said it did not turn over but I don't think they knew it was a three on the tree . I was driving it around my shop area about an hour after I bought it . I just finished the registration yesterday and my 15 year old Daughter has laid claim to it . I'm pretty excited she thinks it is "cute" , being it is the exact same car I had as my first .... I will get it painted for her and get to teach her how to drive . Life sure can be funny sometimes.

Well , lots of new stuff coming for this new toy . Traded a set of 75 BBP disk brakes to a guy for a new interior ( door panels and seats )!! New carpets on the way also .
I got the column changed out and painted so she will have 3 on the floor , also upgraded to the later 230 trans for full syncro .

Found a set of Kelsey Hayes SBP Disk brakes for the front . I just had to keep those Cragers !!

Just sent the 225 slant to the machine shop for hone/rings , bearings , valve job , shave the head and deck the block for 9.0 to 1 comp , and got a better cam .
Found a super six set-up with new Holley 2280 . Also found a Dutra set-up but I'm going to sell that and just run a 2.25 exhaust .

New set of springs for the rear and .890 bars up front .

I need to get some pics for before and after ....

Awsome Find!!!

Well , lots of progress , here is the motor going in , with the help of my Son, Daughter and Wife . I will have more pics soon of the new dash and carpet and seats . The guy I was trading the brakes for the seats disappeared with my seats:bootysha: .Oh well , I guess he needed them more then I did . I found a set of Chevy swivel buckets ( I know , Blasphemy !!! ) that were in great shape but am hoping the guy does come thru down the road with the promised trade ( I still have the brakes) .

I was able to get rebuilt Kelsey-Hayes calipers and use mine for cores at Napa for $150.00 . Ordered all the brake lines and will be installing them soon .

The motor was in and I made sure to set it up on TDC before I dropped in the dist . Only problem was it was TDC on the intake stroke !!! . That is twice I have done that in the last 2-3 years .... My Daughter said , maybe you got something in backwards ( after about ten minutes of swearing I did everything right and cranking ....) , then like a ton of bricks it hit me . I changed the dist 180 and my Daughter goes crazy knowing she was right and Dad was wrong . I just gave her a high five and let it roar for the 20 min of cam breakin . Good family times for sure and thanks to my wife for putting up with car parts scattered all over Kingdom come for the last month !!!

Great pic Steve! Glad to see progress on it. BTW: Who was this guy that absconded with the seats? Maybe we can locate him.

BTW: Who was this guy that absconded with the seats?

That is the funny part , I only know his first name , James . He came back to the house twice to go over patterns and color schemes and I misplaced his # . He said ,"I will see you in a week or so " . I never really paid it too much mind until three weeks passed and then could not find his # . After 6 weeks I figured he was gone but I put an ad on Craigslist asking about them (he was building a Valiant also and bought a few parts from me . BTW , I was the one who brought up the trade to him since he mentioned he did ulhpolstry for a living) hoping he would see it and respond.... I have only myself to blame .

It,s great to see your kids helping/learning with the car, you,ll get some good years usage out of it.Post som pics when you get it up and running with the new rims.:happy10:
