I have not been around for a few months. Been very busy with my 18 year old who joined the Navy and graduated Bootcamp last week ! He will be going to Flordia as he has already started his training to be a Search and Rescue swimmer for the Navy. He will be the guy who jumps out of the helicopter to save people in the water. It might sound easy but you have to make the intense physical training course to make it or you cant swim and save lives. He is doing great and is getting into the best condition of his life so far. I believe part of the training is he will be dropped 3 miles out in the ocean and they have to swim back in. He has made my wife and I very proud. Ron

Thanks and yes we are very proud. Mark the trip went fine. It was actually the first time I have ever flown and it was cool. He will be going to Flordia for about a years training so it looks like a trip to Flordia is in my future. Ron

Congrats to your son. I think we can all say we are proud of him.

Go in November so you can catch Big Daddy's Mopar car show at his museum! :D

Wow, Don't hesitate to tell your son how proud of him you are. Sounds Like a True hero in my book. Even if he never gets the chance to save lives he has already made a great sacrifice by just getting the training and skills to do a job not many could do.
My brother is a firefighter in Ohio and I got to see some of the fires he has gone into to save people and I sure am proud of my little BRO (he is about twice my size though):)

Thanks for the kind replies. I have so much respect for anyone who serves and helps people. The police and fire dept are so underpaid for the great service they do. They are hero's in my book. Tim told me that they said he has the skills and training where he could go out for the Navy SEALS later. But he told me they have an 80% dropout as only 20% make it. He wants to do the SAR swimmer training and serve with that air crew and then he may think about going out for the SEALS. But he said he wants to save lifes as the SAR swimmer and feels good about doing that. Ron

I would like to say to him "That I am glad that there are some young folk's that have the ability and the commitment to follow through on a great life mission."
You are! and should be very very proud of a young son like your's. :blob:
My hat is of to you and your son, And can I thank him for his support to make this country a place for me to enjoy and have a wife and raise my children in.

I bet he would be a good protector when we go bar hoppin. :toothy7:
