Hi everybody! My nickname is Rust on Wheels. I recently bought a 1965 Valiant 200 station from Sweden and drove it home 1100 miles. My girlfriend owns a 1965 Barracuda that we recently got back on the road after some work… Both have a 225 and 904.

I used to own Mopar only but in 2012 I bought my dream car (a 1949 Buick Super Sedanet) which I sold in 2020 to buy a house. In 2019 I bought a 1949 Hudson in Sweden which I tried to drive home but didn’t succeed, I still own that one and it’s the reason for my nickname.

Some of the Mopars I had in the past: 1976 Dodge W200 M880 (my first car), 1971 Plymouth Satellite station with a 383 w/ 365 horses, 1965 Valiant 2dr post with a 170 and automatic, 1949 Chrysler New Yorker, 1950 DeSoto DeLuxe (both with M8 semi auto).

I am joining the forum as I noticed that every time I want to make sure somebody else has already figured something out I got my answer from this board. Not only recently but also decades ago when I owned my 2dr post. So yeah it makes sense to join now we have 2 Valiants in the family! And maybe I can also help others out with some of the experiences I have (had) with A bodies.

That’s about it for now :)

Picture, good suggestion! This is a picture of when we just got back home from 1100 miles Sweden to The Netherlands. This looked like love at first sight haha

Also a bigger picture of the Barracuda (when we brought it home) and the Hudson, just to be complete.

That car in the background is actually an Impala but I totally understand how it looks like a ‘65 Dodge from this angle and with the mods. I saw it parked there and took a snapshot. In the meantime I got to know the owner, a wonderful guy and a corvette specialist. He does really enjoy old Mopars too :)

That explains the roofline.
