So this morning I was flipping through the local craigslist and saw an ad for a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger. So I emailed the owner and asked about it. He replied back saying that it had 119k original miles, needed a driver side window, taillights, an air cleaner, carb adjustment (though the carb is rebuilt), and interior TLC.

Soooo... I went and got it. It runs great!!!

New paint, rebuilt carb, new plugs and wires, new battery, oil, tranny fluid. Auto tranny.

Needs a dash, driver window, taillights, rear seat upholstery, new front seats, and new carpet.

These are the only pics I have right now:

Very nice and a SB car to boot.

Do yourself a favor, seek help immediately so you don't end up with 9 or 10 of them like some of us... :-\"

It can become a terrible obsession. 8)

Got yourself a V8 Abodie !!!
It sure don't look like a 400 dollar car! More like a 2 grand.
congratulations !! looks darn good.

I agree, all though I dont have 9 or 10 of them (anymore) I do find myself really bored if Im not working on the car.

Good luck with the new ride.:thumblef:

Thanks for the comments guys.

You're right, it looks nothing like a 400 dollar car! I have small plans for it for now. Headers, 4 barrel carb, intake, exhaust, and a BIG tach lol. Should be good.

I'm more worried about bringing it as close to it's original condition as possible. So far the rust I've found/looked for is in the trunk area. I'll be welding new metal there. I plan on putting a leather bench seat up front and reupholstering the rear seat the same way. I'll try and get a new dash and headliner as well.

:salut:

I've got two little Honda's I'm selling to the junkyard tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to find a rear bumper, some taillights, and a window for the car. Oh, and an air cleaner and some parts for the carb. The choke is ziptied open because the bar that's supposed to open and close it is MIA.

Therefore, horrible gas mileage.
