Just mounted a steel hood on the 72 Duster

There appears to be a larger gap between the bottom of the front edge of the hood and the top of the Sharkstooth grill. Is there supposed to be some sort of filler piece attached to the hood or even the top of the grill/latch area?
THis car came with a pin on glass hood, so I am in the dark.

I just got it to latch but the gap seems a bit much. THe hood DOES HAVE A RUBBER STRIP across the front, but not near the grill opening- it more on the radiator support. Is there supposed to be anything to close that gap? Maybe when the hood is adjusted it wont be noticable?

Thanks, I didnt think there wasy, but again, I didnt see the hood mounted. Cool car, a buddy here in FL had one JUST LIKE IT, color and all except the trans. George
