just wondering, but I am always searching for a v8 k frame for my 73 duster and I always see them for sell but they always show up to 72. Is a k frame that is pre 73 not compatable with my car?

An older k-frame is compatible, but you also have to use the corresponding engine mounts and steering components.
You can always get the Shumacher conversion mounts from 6 cyl. to V-8 and save a lot of work. Then do the disc brake conversion to big bolt pattern, if needed and when convenient.

this^

and the front sway bar(if equipped) is different on the 67-72 vs the 73-76 k frames.

Easy way to eyeball them is 67-72 are not spool mount 'K's"they are called biscuit mount.73 up are spool mount engine mounts.

On a related note, if You're switching out a slanty, there may be members interested in a spool mount k-frame for their '72 and down slanty equipped rides.....post in
the mech. parts or suspension etc. for sale forums here.................

If you've got a 73+ K frame your best bet is to stay with a 73+ K frame. Lots of folks switch the 73-76 K's onto earlier cars. The biggest difference is the engine mounts and the sway bar going through the K on the 73-76 pieces. If you do switch, you have to use the sway bar for the year you choose. You can swap the steering components and use 73-76 parts on a 67-72 K frame, but you have to switch everything (pitman, idler, center link).

Here's a couple of pictures

'68-72 (67 had a one year only idler arm mount, but otherwise looks the same)
