i have 68 cuda with a 360 crate engine,i have choose to use a milodon 8 quart pan but after rasing the engine, loosing the headers (tti) it seems the sump still hits the k-member just enough to keep me from mounting the pan.is notching the k-member a standard routine?
thanks

yes it is . I did my 64 i na way that I kut it open and then rolled it into the frame back into the notch hole I cut. This keep it strong i nmy opinion since the metal was folded back into the frame then rewelded once it was clear from the pan to fit. I ran a kevco and still had the same issues, but on the Early A's they are even tighter.

Make sure you have enough room for engine twist under load too.

You can I have seen it done cut out what you need to then weld in some
plates to cover the holes up and strengthen were you notched it

i notched mine to fit that pan. i also reinforced the whole thing with perimeter welds.
