I have the front end of my 72 Swinger tore apart i am sanding and prepping and replacing everything in the front end. Upon further inspection I found a few things that i am not sure are correct. There is some welding done around the lower control arm sleve on the drivers side, also both strut rod holes appear to be "worn" out. Could someone with some knowledge shed some light on this. I am attaching some pictures for reference.

Also in the last picture, is that flange or bracket stock from the factory

Thank you in advance.

Hans

The front strut anchors, photos 2 and 3 could even be used "as is" but a bit of work would fix them. So far as the LCA pivots do the pivots "seat" tight with no appreciable "wiggle?"

I know Jim Lusk on here has a video and some posts on beefing the LCAs, seems like he did a piece on K member beef, too

The welded strap in the last picture is factory.

Both those strut rod holes have a notch worn in the holes. The hole is supposed to be a perfect circle. You probably could weld that notch out and carefully grind it smooth and circular.

Someone drove the car with totally shot suspension. Most likely shot strut bushings. Could put some stress on the LCA stud holes and contributed to the drivers side braking.

The first picture looks like someone has tried to repair a broken stud sleeve in the past. Grind those weld off and re-weld. OR weld a washer around there.

Someone drove the car ...............

Not sure drove, LMAO is the correct description. "Herding," maybe
