I might be working out a deal on a 383 for my cuda. So, I thought I would throw my 360 together and sell it.
My question: How well would a 360 run with stock rotating assembly, KB191's, stock smog heads, and a really mild cam? Would I need to worry about the compression being too high? With flats, I was thinking it was around 8.2/1. with the KB's, maybe 9.5/1?
I think I threw out my flat tops, so the KB's are all I have left.

Yes. The 191's look to be much higher compression ratio than 9.5:1..... like over 10.5:1 with stock heads and thicker head gaskets like standard Felpro's. And I don't have my notes before me, but IIRC you'd would have to rebalance with any of the KB's due to the lighter piston and pin weights.

If you are looking to go on the cheap, then consider H405CP's and a thin head gasket. Not a great SCR though... Consider the H116CP's if you want more.

Sell the parts by themselves. Less questions on how it was built and by whom and if there any good and ......

I decided to keep the 360. I doubt I'll come out ahead swapping to a 383, with the added weight, having to change the mounts and torsion bars, buying new headers, ect. I am checking into stroker kits, though.
