how do i adjust the kickdown band on my 727 thanks for info

The kickdown band adjustment is on the side of the case above and forward of the shift linkage. Loosen the lock nut a few turns holding the adjusting screw so it doesn't turn. Tighten the adjusting screw down using a inch lb. torque wrench to 72 inch lbs. Then carefully using a wrench back off the adjusting screw 2-1/4 turns. Then hold the adjusting screw so it doesn't turn and tighten down the lock nut real good.
