Comes through again. I messaged him to see if I could get a bur a little more aggressive than the single cut burs I love. I didn’t want crazy aggressive but I wanted something for rough in work to save time. He recommended his “coarse cut” burs and made up a couple to show me. This was over the Christmas Holiday and I received them today. I had a brand new spacer to blend in on a Victor340 intake I was finishing up so this was a great test with 3/16-1/4 inch of aluminum removal needed. The single cut is a great bur but after you get comfortable this is a great bur too. If in need you can message him on Facebook or give him a call

What the expected life span on these?

What were you using before he ground those up for you? I guess I’m asking how coarse the other burrs were.

That’s about 35% less teeth. That thing should sling slivers a country mile.

I never used to wear gloves while I was porting. When I bought these burs I now get pigskin leather thin gloves from Harbor Freight for 4-6 dollars to keep the slivers out of my hands. These things cut.

yes thanks for that insight in tooling . good cutters are a god send sometimes . and with all the chink crap , thanks for this heads up .

So you want a rougher finish?

Personally on My stuff I will probably run it like that. I never use a sanding roll finish but I do pretty it up some for my customers.
If I had all the time in the world or atleast a few extra days I'd really like to do a back to back test. How my engine is now vs a full burr finished intake port on the Dyno.
I actually think it's a really nice looking port finish, but some people don't like it

I technically use a full but finish but not a bent bur finish like your buddy. I’ll never go that far.

Wonder how they would do on iron
Iron will knock the edge off of 'em quick unless You run them slow, which defeats the purpose, so...not as bad as normal non-ferrous ones but the finer double-cut ones are best there. I can knock a lot of wall out pretty quick with a fresh one.

Thanks for the reference John!

Here’s the gloves I told you guys about. I’ve tried about three different types of gloves and zero burs stick to these and that was a problem with the other gloves. They were around 6.00

I had three pairs of the pigskin gloves in my cart and saw these on sale for 4.99. They felt good to do I changed my mind and bought two pairs of each. Guys using electric or air my like the extra palm padding. These are very soft cowhide.
