Can the earlier LA heads ( X,O,J ) be used on a late model Magnum block?
I know you can use the Magnum's on the early blocks, as long as the oiling concern is taken care of.
Please Advise.

Only if you have the block drilled out for oiling through the head.
If you can convert to pushrod oiling???? IDK how that would work with the shaft set up.

magnum heads are about the best you can get in a factory head as far as I am told; maybe X heads are better but most people swap the other direction and if they have a magnum engine they keep the heads that are on it

I've got a guy wanting this Magnum block I have, but he is wanting to install early heads on it.
The oiling was my main concern.
I don't think it can be done without drilling a passage, from what I have read, this can be diffilcult to do.

wont work unless the mag block is very early production and has the shaft oiling holes drilled, later years did not
