Which one fits better in our early A's?
You telling me a QuickTime is a hundred bucks?I don,t think so,but they are smaller so should fit the early A better. If the Lakewood cost a hundred bucks, then maybe. They don't, so it's Quicktime, hands down.

You didn,t ruffle any feathers until the..No frog No comment. For one I don,t speak french, never have and never will.I guess you,ve never been to Canada, you,d realize not all Canadians speak french(mostly just in Quebec,Canada)So I guess a frog off is in order.Oh no frog, no. Quicktime's don't cost a hundred bucks. Neither do Lakewoods. I rather lamely was trying to say if the Lakewood was a bunch cheaper, I would deal with the fit issues. Off the top of my head I seam to remember the Quicktime being a little spendier than the Lakewood, but not by a huge amount. Having worked with both, I am really impressed by the Quicktime units and given the choice, that is what I will use from here on out.
Sorry. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

I have a Lakewood in my 66. I had not issues with the bell clearing although I pinched the firewall seams anyways.
I'd still go with the Quicktime if it were me. They didn't exist when I got my Lakewood.
Just curious why do you feel this way if you had luck with the Lakewood. It seems that the quick time is more money. Thanks.
We had a lakewood in a 65 A and the thing had about 10 mounting holes around the edge that we didnt use, did they use to make them dual pattern or something? Hung kinda low too. It was a while ago and I remember it being pretty heavy too.
al those holes you didnt use,,,they are to keep it bolted together in case of a clutch blowing apart,,thats the difference between a bell housing and a scatter shield,,,
the lake wood was not designed to fit an early A,, there are problems with Z bar fitment,, i ran one years ago,, and had to alter and make Z bar brackets,, not saying it cant be done,,,
i use a ANSEN scatter shield,, they were made back in the cay for N H R A & A H R A and made to fit the early A,,, but very hard to find thses days ,,most people that have them dont know what they have,,,
the quick time looks like it would fit with out problems,, i have the first QUICK TIME small block scatter shield new in a box, with the starter cone,,,betwen life and work,,i dont think ill ever get to a 5 speed,,the tremec requires to much hacking of the early A,, and the Mc loUD trany will probably never come to life,,, so im considering selling the QUICK TIME
