No overdrive here. Not racing any more so I went from a 4.88 to a3.21 much more streetable gear, can still melt the tires right off it if I want to, and I can pass the odd gas station here and there. LOL. A guy has to take wheel and tire size into consideration also. When I was racing it had it figured to be turning about 6 k at the lineI would like to do it myself and plenty of info out there to show me how. Gears are just under $200 bucks I just have to figure out what gear ratio I need that work well with my over drive.
Me as well. But the crap packs and gain thickness. Now just waiting for a couple nice warm days to soften the pack so I can shave it off with the Massey with out putting all the gravel on driveway on the grassAbout 3 inches is when I start the snow blower.
Yea not racing mine just like to be able to do 70 mph without running up the tach.No overdrive here. Good way to do it, I would do that if I had a blade.Me as well. But the crap packs and gain thickness. Now just waiting for a couple nice warm days to soften the pack so I can shave it off with the Massey with out putting all the gravel on driveway on the grass
I can tear down and reassemble a new car including the dash without to much defaculty, but when it comes to working on anything under the hood it's definitely a nightmare.Morning to answer your question the main fuse , as I understand is for the whole car , all I can tell you it was an asshole to change
Take your final overdrive ratio, and multiply the gear ratio, I'm sure you know this, to get a better idea what you want.Yea not racing mine just like to be able to do 70 mph without running up the tach.
I'll have to check my tire size and figure it all out. Thanks Randy that helps.I want to ditch the 4.10s in my car too, probably go to 3.21, maybe 3.55 since I have room for a 26 inch tall tire.
Plus you are running a 904 if I recall correctly. That gives you a lower starting gear. Stall speed, cam, yada yada yada. Just dont want it loping at cruise.I'll have to check my tire size and figure it all out. Thanks Randy that helps.
I'm not real good at figuring it all out Charlie but would like to stay under 3,000 at 65mph.Plus you are running a 904 if I recall correctly. That gives you a lower starting gear. Stall speed, cam, yada yada yada. Just dont want it loping at cruise.
My torque converter was custom made for the set up I have now and is low stall and made for the street.I'm not real good at figuring it all out Charlie but would like to stay under 3,000 at 65mph.
They used the brine truck as a first response. The plows weren't even out. Probably just using up this years supply of brine or they won't get the same funding for ir next year. I'm sure everyone is familiar with that.if my calculations are correct, that 1 cm is below my threshold for firing up the plow truck
(of course, i understand im not running a whole city)
Probably better to give it to someone familiar with doing that. If not set up properly they will whine like a wife on a Saturday night or run the pinion too tight.Morning guys looks like Murry and I are back in the freezer were at -9*f.
Was thinking of changing the rear end gears in my Scamp from 4:10s to about 3:55s. Never built a rear end so not sure if I can do it or have someone that knows how set it up.
I have a hard time trusting anyone anymore Mark, don't know if it's old age or being screwed to many times.Probably better to give it to someone familiar with doing that. If not set up properly they will whine like a wife on a Saturday night or run the pinion too tight.
You're right though there is lots of info on Google.
Yeah there are scams all over these days. What about John with the Green Demon? Would he be able to built it for you?I have a hard time trusting anyone anymore Mark, don't know if it's old age or being screwed to many times.
