I haven't seen the blue sky here in about 3 weeks, nothing but smoke from all the fires.
Makes me think that winter here is not so bad. No fires only clear sky's and no bugs.

Morning guys. We had a beautiful rain late afternoon and during the night. We really needed it badly and now the temp has dropped and the humidity left so we have the windows back open. It's like being held in a cage like a wild animal. May go to the Oshawa Airport for a car show today, includes a $6 all you can eat pancake breakfast and a BBQ at lunchtime. Went last year and was hot but then it started to rain. Have a great weekend guys and sorry for no burnout yesterday. Didn't realize it was Friday till I checked my pill dispenser LOL (True)

Just a gentle reminder and pass it along.

Morning Mark. The car show sounds fun I would think it will have a big turn out.
Must be nice not caring what day of the week it is.

Or what time it is too. You'll learn once you're retired Fred. What are you up to this weekend?
Was thinking about getting the 29 truck running. It's been sitting for many years without being ran, Iv'e been soaking the cylinders with penetrating oil and I need to figure out how to get oil to the rest of the engine before I turn it over.
That car show at the air port sounds great Mark get some pictures if you go I would love to see some more of the caddy if it's there.

Hi Fred...the first thing I would check is if it is free to turn over with a crank or a Johnson bar and socket on the crankshaft. If it moves then great. Change the oil and keep cranking it so hopefully the oil pump or the splash system will coat the inside of the motor. Put some gas down the carb and stand back lol. Good luck. You may land up with a large muscular arm on the one side though lol. If the starter is still good then use it but remember it's a 6 volt system.

Fawcett Motor Carriage in town has always used stove oil to free up a motor and has great success with it.
Good idea Mark I remember my dad using it also.
Not sure if it's stuck yet gonna try to see if I can turn it over by hand after coffee.

The wiring is still new in the box so I will have to wire it up before I can crank it over.
Tried to turn it over by hand using the fan blade but no luck. My son has more parts to bring over including the hand crank. I'm heading to town to get some oil I would think straight 30 wt. would be ok.

Good luck I’m sure it’ll go no Chinese parts on that old girl !

Been digging through all the boxes of parts that I have here and looks like I got everything and extra.
Lots of new stuff and every Manuel that I need. Thanks again guys for the help.

You going to check out the dream cruise CF ?
Nope. I was just in the barn for a couple hours cleaning and moving stuff and my shirt and pants are like you just sprayed me with a garden hose. I may go up tonight if my son wants to go in the newer car with air.

Sounds like it's hot there CF, must be time for a cold one and lay under the garden hose for a bit.

Found this in the box of goodies from the 29 truck and it works just fine, I'm not sure if it's old but it doesn't say made in China on it's back side and it says it's made in New York USA.

Just be careful Fred if you hand crank it. DON'T wrap your thumb around the handle like you would think you would. Just let the handle rest in your palm and bring it up to the compressing stroke and then a good upwards tug on it. Many people have wrapped their thumbs around the handle and have broken their thumb if it kicks back and they will kick like a mule when they do so be careful. If you're not sure how to do it then go onto Google and find a video
