hi guys, i recently found someone selling a 360 real cheap, the block says that its a 76 block now when buying a 360 is there a certain year i sould stay away from like late 70's or 80's 360 blocks or does it even matter?

Like most 360's, and later 340's, the 76 model has low compression, but all the basics building blocks are there for a great street or strip engine. Follow basic machine work rules, put some good pistons with about 9.5:1 compression in there, if it's a street engine, then choose your cam, heads, intake, and carburation in accordance with the weight, gear ratio, and intended usage of your particular vehicle. Good luck.
