Just wondering if anyone has had some recent experiences with Laysons. Been many years since I dealt with them. My main reason was they would say they had a part, charge my CC then pull a Bait N Switch. Also, haven’t seen the guy who works for them post on this site for awhile. Does he still work there?

I never had a problem with Laysons. Been buying for 3 plus years. Great customer service, never had a long wait for anything from them.
Even had a 15 minute phone conversation with the guy who puts together their wiring harnesses, when I had a question about a few connections.
Both Year One and Classic Industries have kept me waiting on a back order more than once.

According to his profile Rick was on yesterday.

He did me right when I bought a full carpet kit for my 66 Barracuda. He "found" me a great deal on the complete set.

Speak DIRECTLY to Rick. He is a real straight shooter and one hell of a guy.

I live an hour away from them in the Seattle area and enjoy going to the warehouse to pick up parts. They have stuff that none of the other resto parts warehouses do and I've used them to get dash bezels restored. I've gotten crosswise on a couple items over the years (like 20 years) but in the end they always treated me right.

I've dealt with Laysons in the past. I don't know anyone there and I live in Canada.
I found their service excellent. Parts shipped on time, price was reasonable and very good quality.
Highly recommend!!

I live in the same town as Layson's. These guys have; loaned me tools, given me numerous consults with their mechanic, allowed me to crawl around and photograph cars in their shop, physically saved my botched carpet install. Oh, and I should mention they did this without allowing me to pay them. The little woman's '64 Dart would not run or look like it does without these guys help!

I've contacted Rick at Layson's a few times and he has been honest and has shipped on time. He has been great all the times I've used him.

I bought a few things from them at the Nats this year, and talked to Dave for a bit. I’ve never had a problem with Laysons, except that time I gave Dave a perfect set of door jamb fillers to help them remake them, waited for over a year, he couldn’t get them done, and sent me back a crappy set that was over sprayed purple. Honest mistake tho, I think, he probably had a couple thousand of em waiting to be done.

I have bought multiple parts from Laysons with no issue. Presently due to Covid we are waiting for some lenses from the supplier. Thats out of their control. Will purchase from them again

Tim

I have had no issues and have always sent a pm to Rick to start the process.

They have gone to the expense and effort to make some desperately needed parts for our early A bodies. I like to support anyone that makes the investment in our unique cars.

I recently purchased their repro carpet hood downs.

Absolutely.
Compare the aftermarket 69 Dart tailight bezels they carry to any other ones out there.
Heavier, prettier and just over $100 for the pair, with gaskets.
Cannot beat that.

When they had their problem at Carlyle, I had an order in. Employee that took my order had quit and his orders got “lost”. I got ahold of Rick, and as soon as they reopened, he was on it. Found my order and got the parts shipped. I also would suggest dealing with Rick. Stand up guy!!

I've bought over $1200.00 worth of parts from them in the past year. No problems at all.

Before you decide to spend money at Layson's, see, for just a few examples, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here. Much of what they sell is not of their own manufacture; a large proportion of their product line is bought elsewhere and marked up, so with a little extra effort you can often get a better deal.

Thanks Dan,

Much of what you’ve posted I’ve seen. I posed the question to see if they changed their ways. I’m looking for a rear window gasket for a 66 Valient and I see they are carrying one. I’ve talked with Mike and Mark at MrMoparts and told me if they can get a piece of my existing gasket they can make one. Problem is I can’t store the car outside with no rear window.

I've never had a problem with buying parts from them. They've been bashed by the same people everytime their name comes up. Whether they make all their own parts or not doesn't matter to me. I would rather spend my cash with them instead of places like classic industries.

Granted for my soft parts needs I always check detroit muscle technologies first.

I don't have the time to post up a whole bunch of links....so I'll just leave this one right here.....'nuff said... Dan can go pound sand.

That's a seriously noxious nuisance, alright. We have some of those here, too, though the signal/noise ratio is much worse over there and at least the ones over here don't have smarmy bible verses in their .sig.

You wonder how many folks this guy drives away from the site

Oh, you wanna seriously consider selling everything off and getting out of the hobby altogether because it's full of KKK-spec hatemongers? Go read the "News and Politics" section of For A-Bodies Only. With a side order of go read almost any other section of that board to see the hobby's full of ignorant knuckledraggers.
