I have an Edelbrock LD340 which has the W2 ports and bolt pattern. I am just wondering if this was ever available or do I have a one-off custom intake. This came from a racing team out of Reno, NV, and was rumored to have been run by Walker Evans. This thing is ported to the max, as are the heads. They all came in the same deal. See pics below. Thanks!!

The heads and intake were ported for each other. The intake was never available for a W2 head. The oval port W2 head has the port located in a slightly different spot. The MoPar engines book has a basic pencil drawing of this. These particular W2 heads are heavily modified since the ports are rectangle.

If I have some time later, I'll take a snap shot of the two gaskets on top of each other with the end bolt holes lined up to located it evenly for a comparison.

Kind of strange to run a dual plane intake on those heads

Quiet the unique package there. I question weather that intake, even modified like it is would be enough for those heads. Cool none the less.

Not related to this thread, But am I going blind.........quite possibly...lol.........or are there a ton of shims under those springs?

There are. These are long valves and I have the installed height at 1.900. It took a lot of shims to get there!! I have run this combo on my 422 and it will put the car sideways if you floor it at 30mph. Previously ran the heads on a 360 and it was going 11.40s but really didn't start to make good power until 5500 rpm. I thought these may be a good match for more cubes. The 11.40 was with the indy rectangle port intake and these heads.

That's cool. The ports look like the're approaching BBC size...lol. I bet they do flow. Curious to how the exhaust ports were treated?

Uuuuuunique? Hell yea!

Well that intake is a way lot better than the MoPar W2 dual plane offering! That's for sure! I have run that intake before. With the MoPar mods. Milled plenum devider, TQ hogged, it really help my old combo out. It added a bit of rpm up top. It is a good way to (leagally) cheat. The old kit car program? Some racing rules some where long ago demanded a dual plane intake to be used and so there it was! Just modified where you can't see it.

A lot will have to do with the current or intended state of the head ports.
To bad MoPar Muscle didn't test the flow of that intake.

And now after I hit send... I just thought to myself... Hey! Edelbrock never castes a dual plane for the W2's, they could have done it RPM style.

Its odd. These were ported years ago and I am using the indy rectangle port gaskets which have to be trimmed slightly to match. The exhaust matched the tti header gaskets almost perfectly with only slight trimming to the upper parts. I will get a shot of the exhoust tomorrow.

I bought one from Keith Black in the early 90's. It looked to have been cast as a W2 LD340 as none of the bolt holes were elongated and it had oval ports. Sold it to an acquaintance and he can't find it now.

Subscribed. s if you floor it at 30mph. Previously ran the heads on a 360 and it was going 11.40s but really didn't start to make good power until 5500 rpm. I thought these may be a good match for more cubes.
Ding,Ding!,we have an answer! 4 ",inch strokers, eat up airflow and camshaft. I would run that top end setup, learn to tune.

He he he I like the Bombers idea.

Commando66, if ya ever find it, snap a pic and list it up!

My old 318 would put the car sideways floored at 30mph, not the best indicator of obscene power.

This ports are pretty big, they are high rpm/big cid heads.

Here is the real deal. The LD340 TA P3690585 This is the rare LD340 that was made for the W2 heads.
