So there is lead on the top left of the cowel area, I took the windshield out to fix a rust hole hence the awful welds. Should I remove the lead by melting it out, or just flatten it out and put filler over it?

That’s a good question. I’d be concerned about rust under the lead. There is a spot near the A-Pillar on the cowl of my replacement top where I melted out a little lead before I decided to just remove the top with the cowl attached. Now I don’t know if I should just melt it out and use metal strips and filler, or try to fill it with new lead. The lead on the opposite side is still intact. There was a fair amount of surface rust under that area, but it didn’t appear to have gone beyond that.

Took all of mine out, blasted it and then used thin coat of tiger hair and finished it off with bondo. So far so goʻd.
