I've had two different small blocks (360, 318 ) in different cars that both had (and have) this problem. I've tried two fuel pumps and gaskets in my current 318 trying to stop what appears to be oil leaking out from where pump bolts to block. I've looked along front of block for other spots that might be leaking but always come back to pump where it seams to bead up at bottom of pump. This causes a fine misting of oil and a mess every time I drive it. Wondering if any body else has had this problems with small blocks, and if so did they figure out a way to fix it? thanks

Its actually mounted on the timing cover. I mention that because the chain inside is throwing a heck of a lot of oil about in there.
You'll need to clean all the oil from bolt threads and hole threads. RTV on gaskets and threads will stop the leaks but only on clean surfaces. Give the stuff ample time to cure.

99% of the time it's the valve cover gasket leaking...

if you are sure it's the fuel pump, then yeah what RedFish said

most times people get aftermarket valve covers that dont bend, and are straight as an arrow but the heads have a long arch to them front to back

I'm with RedFish on this where I think it's working it's way out the theads some how. Fresh rebuild with new valve covers but everything clean on block down the front & side. thanks guys
