LED dash lights

I just bought a package of instrument LED lights from Herb's Parts. I guess I should have done some homework before purchasing. Do I need any special flasher units or relays or such to make these functional, or are they fine as is? There's no kind of instructions, only an invoice.

If they are for anything on the dash, just put them in. They are polarized, so they will only work one way, but will go in two ways.

For tail lights or turn signals you may need an electronic flasher.

So installing them is like a trial and error kinda thing? Also, these are also for the turn signal indicators.
 
I used them for dash lights, turn signal indicators and hi beam light. All of them on the dash.

It is a little trial and error, if they don’t light up, turn them around.

They are really bright compared to the regular bulbs.

Thank you, sir. I bought them knowing that the OEM style bulbs were not very bright. Kinda anxious to see how they look.
 
One thing that I found out. The dimmer won’t work unless there is one regular bulb on the dash light circuit. So if you have a radio with a regular (non led) bulb in it, that will be enough to make you dimmer work.

If you like your dash lights bright like me, it won’t matter.

Hmmm, the ad said they will dim, didn't say anything about having a regular bulb in it. No matter, I prefer my dash lights bright.
 
You can trace out the circuit board visually or use an ohm meter to find ground on the bulb sockets. Use a black sharpie to mark the negative side of the hole. The instrument cluster grounds through the mounting tabs to the dash frame.
 
Hmm.... I might have to wire in a regular bulb somewhere behind the dash so I can dim my LED’s. Mine go from SUPER bright to so dim you can’t hardly see the gauges.

Their brite , I bought some small LED lights off of eBay and installed them. They shine big for their size.

I think I figured out you could add a 40 or 50 ohm 10 watt resistor and that would pull enough current to make the dimmer work, and not get too hot, if you don’t want the extra light. Can buy on Amazon.
 
Some folks have also added LED sticky back light tape inside the dash instead of the bulbs. I haven’t tried it, but the pictures look cool. Have to have the dash apart to do it.

I think you can even get the ones that you can change color on so you can change the color with a switch.
