Legendary Drag Race Team Owner Paul Candies Gone At 72

Paul Candies, of the famed Candies & Hughes Top Fuel and Funny Car teams, passed at age 72 on July 21. Here is a great article from the Dragster Insider column on NHRA.com:

I remember watching their beautiful cars run here in SoCal at both OCIR and Pomona. Always a class act and top notch team.

Billy was born and raised in south Louisiana and knows the entire family personally, and went to school with Paul's son Brett. He heard about this the other day from a friend on FaceBook and is pretty bummed about it. Paul was a very nice man and an absolute legend. May he Rest in Peace.
