You folks that are not in the rust belt are lucky.

Not having to deal with the constant corrosion from the salt and slop on our roads, destroying our cars.

Rust never sleeps once it gets started. It's a constant battle keeping our car bodies sealed up, undercoated and painted to hold up to this harsh enviroment.

I actually have a designated 1990 Dodge Caravan that I use as a slop vehicle when the roads are a mess and freshly salted. This helps to keep my other good vehicles rust free.

Shaping up this 2002 Dodge Caravan, yes it's been run through the salt. Thinking about upgrading my slop vehicle to this one now as it is a good runner and it was donated to me.

Patching her up . . .

Glad I went to auto body school as a young man, and know how to fix things.

New car prices are just crazy, crazy . . .

There's always something rusting up and falling off.

I thought I was gaining ground moving away from the extreme quarter panel and wheel arch rust of Southern Ohio, but moved into the extreme A pillar, rear window channel and trunk gutter rust of central Florida!

Yes they say they rust from the bottoms up in MN and the tops down in Florida.

Vinyl Tops are killers for the roofs of the cars that sit outside.

That's nice work you're doin there, Casey. You wanna come work on mine? We'll feed you all you can stand and supply the beverage of your choice. lol

Sounds good, I come right through Macon when I head down to the Winter Shack after Thanksgiving.
Lol . . I know you got a good air compressor . . .

Stop by Iowa on your way south. What kind of beer do you drink again? I may need to get stocked up.

I used to haul salt from Saskatchewan Canada to Duluth Minnesota for the roads and sure screwed up my semi.

Sounds good ToolMan,

Kind of crazy, have enjoyed the spirits most of my life. Then one of our car guy friends put himself in the hospital 2 times cause he could not leave the hard stuff alone. He just about died. He is getting back on his feet and Brian is helping him get his 63 Falcon going again.

Boy I thought at this stage in life, who needs anything like that. I decided to go on without it myself, not missing the dull headaches and having to process it out of my system.

Thought the best thing I can have going forward is to have a good clear mind to make decisions with, as life throws all kinds of crazy stuff at you and you got to be able to figure out the work-a-rounds to carry on a good lifestyle.

Just my rant, like being healthy and doing creative things in the shop. And get the heck out of Dodge when temp gets down to Zero, and head some place warmer.

Will stop by when heading South
Good Times !

Thanks, Casey

Brian got it fired up and running last night with a new radiator in it, for his neighbor Scott. Scott built the engine with Brian. He's a fun guy to be around as he has lots of cool car lingo from the 60 & 70s.

Good looking Falcon. And I thought early A's were crowded with headers. LOL
