Went and looked at a Scamp today, supposed to be a 73,not sure.It has an 8 3/4 v8 and auto.If I get it will be parting will use the drivetrain in my 69.When did they go to spool mounts? Was 72 the last year for the 8 3/4?

Do you have pics? What is price?
Yes 1972 was last year for 8 3/4 in an Abody. So if it is a 73 then it was added. They changed to spool mount k frame and trans mounts in 1973. If it is a 1972 then it was changed from the biscut mount style. Either way if you just want the drivetrain it sounds like a good deal depending on how much they want for it.

72 was the last rear for the 8.75 rear (doesn't mean someone didn't put it in a 73+). The stool mount and Big bolt pattern brakes started in 73. If it is a 73 and has disc brakes use the entire front end. Oh and if you're not sure if the k frame was converted to spool mount see if there is and opening on the bottom of the k frame. If not is a 72 or older if so then is a 73+. The spool mount k frames have the sway bar runnin through them while the 72 and older have them in front of the k frame.

It does't have lg bolt pattern or spool motor mounts so maybe he is wrong about year,I did not look at vin.I do know that when I got my disc set up it came out of a late 72 and had lg bolt pattern.

That car's been there for a while. If it's got small bolt pattern discs you'd better swoop it up. They're worth way more than a big bolt pattern set. You could sell those parts to fund something else, or use them as they'd be correct for your car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on the 8 3/4, but since they quit putting them in A-bodies in 72 did they ever make a factory A-body 8 3/4 that was large bolt pattern? I would think all factory A-body 8 3/4 rearends would be small bolt pattern and you have to change the axles.

Yes this is correct I had to swap axles on one that I put in my 1974 Swinger. I purchased Dr. Diff axles and they are great

It doesn't have disc,sm bolt pattern drum,I will know hopefully by wed or thurs if I will get it.Gotta find a trailer to borrow!

Aaaaahhhhh. Ok. I was thinking the guy had it advertised as a disc brake car for some reason. Good luck with it. I'd still lowball him a little bit. It's been advertised for a long time. It'll have a couple good parts for the Dart.

Got the scamp today, pics later. It is a 73 but has biscuit motor mounts an 8 3/4 rear end and small bolt pattern drum brakes.360 / 727
