I just saw a '72 (?) Dart Sport 340 auto for sale near here for $3k. If you want, I could get some pics of it. White with blue and red side stripes; black interior.

Patience helps more than anything. Have realistic expectations, too, it's not likely you will find a $15,000 car for $3500. 340 models are fairly rare to begin with, your search criteria is for 3 model years only, of a vehicle that was produced approximately 40 years ago. Since they are a performance model, most were driven hard and not well cared for, so a fewer percentage of them survived.
Use all the resources that are available, web boards, ebay , craigslist, local advertising, word of mouth, etc. It's a lot easier to find cars now than 20 years ago when most of these resources weren't available.
Don't give up, something will come along.
