Was Wondering If I Could Get A Look At Some Ways You People Are Doing Stereo , Do Not Want To Cut Anything , Car Has Air And No Place To Mount , And I Only Have An Am Radio . Any Pics Would Be Great.

I installed 2 6x9's in factory position on the rear dash, then put an amp (up side down ) under the rear dash between them. I ran 2 RCA cables under the carpet to under the front seat, bought a XM Roady and when I wanted to rock I'd pull it out, plug it in the cig. lighter, throw the ant. out of the trunk on to the rear deck and rock. Easily stashed for that stock look.

I guess you could do the same thing with a stereo unit If you memorized the remote for it.

Also some guys install it in their glove box.

Check out these folks, especially their Secret Audio system. Leave your old AM in place and their system is completely hidden (under seat or in glove box).

I like MVR's idea. I put XM in the wife's company car and it has to be able to come out when the car gets turned back in. Nothing is permanent, no cutting.

I have run into the same problem. I think what I am going to do is mount it in the glove box, and just use a remote. I like MVR's idea for speakers and amp, also, I have seen a demon use a "false wall" in the trunk and thats where they put their amps and subs. I won't go that far, but its a thought.

There are also places that can upgrade the electronics in your stock radio to what offered today. They take your AM radio and convert it to AM/FM w/ MP3 and they sound great.

Check out www.vintagecarradio.com I just last Mon. installed their Mod. # usa-230. Perfect fit in my '74 Duster. AM, FM/FM sterio with Aux jack for mp3 etc. #149.00 including frt. Works great............Steve
