Barona opened up the other week out here, but I found out too late. Open 4th of July weekend so going then, taking the a Dart out for the first time.

Would be nice to be back in the Burgh for the 4th. My little boy loves the parades, only time I let him run on the street while he picks up candy!

I may head out of town and go to maple Grove over the 4th. Nothing happening locally

John, how far away is Maple Grove from you? I tried looking it up and it looks like it's close to Allentown?

Lucky that Barona is only 14 miles from my house, will help if I blow something up since I'm driving there:)

286 miles.

We have been running at Shawano Speedway since the 6th of June.
I've been helping my buddy with his late model. Last year engine problems all season....bearings and smoking. SBC power. Two sets of bearings.... Valve train issues.

Now the engine is good but he's crashed every week.

Still fun.

Mine block and heads are still in the shop. I owe a grand on the updates....maybe when I pay the bill in two weeks I might get it back. I like the engine shop but the block has been there since October.

I’m so blessed to race in PA and Ohio where the Mopar guys really support racing. I hear

guys every week complaining about the lack of racers. Here we are during a screwed up race season (Coronavirus) and I sit here looking out my car trailer seeing not 1, not 2, but 6 Mopars. Life is good.

Matt took out a green Mopar first round. Would have gone a 6.119.but he had a .005 light so he had room to play.

Well we have the Duster loaded in the car trailer and hopefully can leave Thursday after Matt finishes up working. Bad news is my air conditioning quit in the motorhome and there’s no way this old 64 year old with 3/4 of a heart could handle 90 plus temps in my motorhome. I spent 375.00 for a stand up air conditioner an will try it out tonight to see how it works. I would sure hate to miss this three day race

Sweating putty balls at 9:52 pm in my motorhome it was 90 degrees and in 17 minutes it was down to 79 degrees. Excuse the mess but sometimes you gotta mess up to clean up.

A picture of my son in the lanes in my car taken by a friend. I enjoy taking pictures and have a very good cannon camera but I sure can’t touch up the colors like some can.

You’re a lucky man John. Sharing your passion for cars and racing with your son is very special. I look forward to doing the same with my son one day.
Nice picture too.

Thanks buddy and I have been blessed. We have our moments when we want to grab each other by the neck but we work it out.
