Have been registered and poked around the site for quite a while. Finally getting a project going so thought I would make an official first post. I have owned my current 71 Challenger (340 auto, hemi orange) for 18 years and I have been in possession of the dart for close to 15. The dart was a 69 GT, convertible, /6 auto, bucket seats with console, a New England car (rrrrusty) and sat neglected many years. A high school class mate of mine bought the car in 1990 for $75 bucks but was killed in a vehicle accident (not the dart) before much work got done. The family gave the car to me (drove across the U.S with it on a u-haul) and I started replacing panels before some life changing events.
Fast forward to Spring Fling 2007. After taking my Challenger to Willow Springs for the Spring Fling Speed festival we hit the swap meet and spot a 69 Dart Custom 4 door with 360, auto, minilites, big t-bars, Wilwood calipers, sway bars, etc, etc, etc. The 4 door was an excellent sheetmetal donor as well as great suspension and miscellanous. A high CA desert car wearing all it's original pristine sheetmetal as well as original paint and not grain of sand size spec of rust anywhere.
When complete I'll end up with a 69 Dart GT 340 4 speed convertible with a/c. Most likely in it's original shade of red. Currently the 4 door has been stripped to a bare shell. The convertible still has front and rear suspension but otherwise is bare. It is a long term project for sure.
