The tubes in my slicks have "AIRCRAFT-TYPE REMOVABLE VALVE STEM" according to MT's web site.

Anybody know what this means? Or know how to remove the valve stem?

On mine the whole end of the valve stem can unscrew from the tube. On a "normal" stem you only unscrew the valve core.

Do I have to pull the tube out of the tire to get the valve stems off?

And no, no 8-3/4 yet.

No.

I still haven't ordered a DANA. There is no racing this Wednesday, so the Dart is getting some work done. Hopefully I can go to a 30x13.5 tire. Then I have to figure out what gears and order the Dana...

Ok, I'll give it a shot.

Wish me luck!

Ok, they unscrewed without a problem.

But I still can't get the rest of the piece that's stuck inside it out.

Where can I get a replacement screw-in valve stem?

Well, here's something I didn't think of.

I called up Mickey Thompson, asked where I could a replacement stem. The guy said he'll drop it in the mail to me, no charge.

Don't know why I didn't think of calling them before. ;-)
