HAS anyone ver put a magum motor from a dakota in a older car im talkin fuel injection and everything i want it all just curious i seen someones valiant on the site with on what do i have to do how do i wire it what electric fuel pump do i need HELP please

I know of a 73 Dart locally that a couple (husb. an wife.) put a magnum motor and all the FI stuff into it. He told me it took him 2 or 3 years to get it all figured out just tinkering on it. Runs 13.7's quarter mile. Was a nice car that I thin k has potential for more. I havn't been out to the track in a couple months, but next time I do I will let them know to join the site and share some of their insight into the process.

I've done this into a '68 Dart with a 5.9 Magnum and a 4 speed.

As far as bolting in, if you use a 904, 727, or 4 speed, it's pretty simple and basic.
You will need a '71-'81 360 CAR oil pan to install it, a pre-'92 318 pan will NOT work!
5 speeds, 518 (46r or 46re) or 500s require extensive floor and transmission mount modifications, which negate a trouble-free installation.

The wiring for the EFI is a trial in patience and time consuming, requiring untaping, eliminating certain systems not related to fuel, ignition or emissions and re-taping it.

I used the stock Magnum fuel pump, which was attached to a slightly modified stock '68 Dart sending unit.

Mark.
