Magnum coil with Orange box?

I have a coil wire that will let me hook the magnum coil to the LA-style female tower distributor cap. Can the orange box fire it? Do I have to steal the coil from my /6? Jump the ballast to eliminate it?

I have an MSD 6AL Digital sitting here that I could use, but looking to keep it simple.
