Magnum heads and 340 manifolds

So who's running a set of 340 manifolds on Magnum heads ? Do they seal ?

Ive heard they do, Ive heard they dont. I need an answer from someone that has tried it please.

Hey Adam, I have a 340 with the EQ magnum heads. The 340 hipo manifolds bolt on just fine but they do not seal on the bottom of the head port. They leave a gap of about a quater inch.
I made some 16 gauge plates to fill the gap and I don't know if it will work yet as the engine is still on the stand.
I'm wondering if anybody else ran into this too and what they did to fix it.

I'm using the 340 manifolds on my blueprint engine with Magnum heads and used the summit copper gaskets I fired it up today and so far no leaks.

I was thinking of using the copper gaskets also, but I thought they would be to soft and bend and leak. That's good to know, keep us informed if you have any problems later on after you drive it a while.
