Well, Rhoads lifters won't work with the Mag heads on an LA motor. Actually, they work but are really noisey. Lifter preload is about .020 but Rhoads says 1/16 of an inch (.062) With regualr lifters I get around .045 preload.

Also tried a SB Chevy 1.5 rocker arm, stock, and the Chevy pushrod. Geometry was way off and the pushrod too long.

BTW, anyone have a spare Mopar Mag conversion pushrod they'd be interested in parting with. I don't really want to buy another set to just replace the one was sitting on the bench and mysteriosly bent itself

They should work if you got the right lifters. (AMC to oil thru the pushrods?) Those lifetr dont get preloaded the sam way, and tend to be noiseier than any hydraulic should be. It's because of the larger bleed down rate at low rpms (lower oil pressure). As the rpms rise, the noise should quiet down.

I used them in the 80's,to get the "solid lifter" sound. They are the oil thru. When you torque the rocker arms down, scribe a line and loosen then scribe another line, I get .020, Using a regular lifter, I get .060. They are LOUD not just noticable, even while cruising. At first I thought I had massive exhaustr leaks. Now if I could just find ONE pushrod....
