hey guys so I got a 318 magnum I'm working on I got the later one piece oil pan gasket, I seen around the timing chain cover looks like it won't seal unless I use a **** load of glue, due to those tab holes should I just use the regular style pan gasket never had any trouble with those

if this is a magnum swap to a center sump pan, the magnum swap on this site says to use the 4 piece gasket set as the 1 piece causes leaks at frt of pan. great raed for swapping magnum into a body.

318 magnum uses 360 sized pan gaskets, correct? you got the right one?

See my thread on this subject. LA Oil Pan on Magnum
Probably best to use the 4 piece LA gasket set.

Use the magnum gasket. I've done it several times! You will need to use a good amount of RTV in the front corners, but it will seal so much better than the 4 piece LA gasket which I have also used.

Bottom line is the LA gasket is a direct fit but has more leak prone places, the magnum seals much better but needs two globs of silicone.

Oh yeah, the magnum gasket is reusable if you ever need to drop the pan again.
