Have been running a mag on my race motor this year an it seems to eat tachs. Have already went through 3 an have talked with autometer to make sure all is right. Ran msd in the past with no problems. Has any one else had any problems? I am running it in a aluminum race boat an was wondering if it might have something to do with the ground?

You getting marine grade silver/tin coated wire? Water kills anything else. If not try it with 10 gauge to the ground soldier everything and run same to coil hot.

Good call. Wires run along the frame rail an have always got water sloshing around on them. Try another tach an see next year if I dont go away from the mag. Just thought it was weird how I never lost one before I went to the magneto.
