mallory 11k tach hook up problems help please !

I have a mallory 11K tach with shift lite and rev. limiter .. has 4 wires on it to hook up.
Green coil neg.
red 12v source ,
black ground
white lite.
hooked it all up to these instructions and when I hook the green coil wire up it will kill the engine..
I am running a oem mopar dual point dist.
what do you think the problem might be ? maybe needs a tach adapter ?
or just won't work with a points dist.?

here is the tach that will kill the engine when the green wire is hooked up to the neg side of coil. 4 wire tach.

Did you buy it new? Either the tach is bad or it was a rare special order for positive ground, or the green wire is "pinched" and grounded somewhere

The mallory tach is used... malllory says "they do NOT make tachs anymore" .

I'll pull the cover off and look inside for a pinched green wire ..
do not think it is a pos. ground unit.. !

took the cover off and looked inside tach.. NO wires pinched or broken.
circuit board looks Good !
had a dial in the inside for 4,6, or 8 cyl engine applications .. it was on 8 for V-8.:-k:-k
 
If it comes apart, IE not crimped like the Sun tachs, I'd be glad to take a look at it for you, NO guarantees, if you feel like shipping it to me. I'm in N Idaho. Shoot me a PM if interested
