Manifold clean up

Is there a preferred method for cleaning exhaust manifolds and intake manifolds? Rust on the outside, carbon build up on the inside.

Hot tank or sand blasting.

Bead/ sand blasting is the only way to go. I use Eastwoods high temp exhaust manifold paint, pick your color. Will cure when engine fires. No paint, it will rust.

Evaporust I think its called- it might work well on exhaust manifolds, but you may have to buy alot of it.
