So I ordered Remflex 6008 from Amazon $38. Got it, not sure what I expected but it looks a little dented up? Is that normal? It is not broken, but certainly it is not glass smooth.

I understand it is going to crush as I tighten, but not sure if I should be concerned.
THoughts?

Also it looks pretty think. How much do you crush it and how do you know when to stop. 10lbs torque doesnt seem like much.

go packers

Not sure about the dents you mention, but put Remflex gaskets on 440 with iron exhaust with 1/8+ gaps between manifolds and heads...torqued to iron exhaust torque spec, retorqued...no leaks at all...years later still no leaks and no need to retorque.

Yes it is THICK. You shouldn't have a problem. I used that part # on my slant.Good product.

It'll torque down, but it'll also crush quite a bit as it does.
It's fine.
